Wait for ME!
Zephaniah 3:8-20 assures God’s people “NO ONE WILL MAKE THEM AFRAID.
* ZEPHANIAH 3:8-20 *
8 “THEREFORE WAIT FOR ME,” says the LORD, “UNTIL THE DAY I RISE UP for plunder; My determination is to GATHER the nations
To My assembly of kingdoms,
To POUR on them MY INDIGNATION, All MY FIERCE ANGER;
All the earth shall be DEVOURED
With the FIRE OF MY JEALOUSY.
9 “For THEN I WILL RESTORE to the peoples A PURE LANGUAGE, THAT they all may CALL ON the NAME OF THE LORD.
To SERVE HIM with ONE ACCORD.
10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia
My worshipers,
The daughter of My dispersed ones,
Shall bring My offering.
11 IN THAT DAY you SHALL NOT not be shamed for any of your deeds
In which you transgress against Me;
For then I WILL TAKE AWAY from your midst
Those who rejoice in your pride,
And you SHALL NOT LONGER be haughty
In My holy mountain.
12 I WILL LEAVE in your midst
A MEEK AND HUMBLE people,
And they shall TRUST IN THE NAME OF THE LORD
13 The REMNANT of Israel shall do NO RIGHTEOUSNESS And speak NO LIES,
Nor shall a DECEITFUL TONGUE be found in their mouth;
For they shall FEED their flocks and LIE DOWN,
And NO ONE SHALL MAKE THEM AFRAID.”
14 SING, O daughter of ZION! SHOUT, O Israel! BE GLAD and REJOICE with ALL YOUR HEART, O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 The LORD has TAKEN AWAY your judgments,
He has CAST OUT your enemy. The king of Israel, the LORD, IS IN YOUR MIDST; You shall SEE disaster NO MORE.
16 IN THAT DAY it shall be SAID to Jerusalem: “DO NOT FEAR; ZION, LET NOT YOUR HANDS BE WEAK.
17 THE LORD YOUR GOD IN YOUR MIDST, THE MIGHTY ONE, WILL SAVE; HE WILL REJOICE OVER YOU WITH GLADNESS, HE WILL QUIET YOU WITH HIS LOVE, HE WILL REJOICE OVER YOU WITH SINGING.”
18 “I WILL GATHER those who SORROW over the appointed assembly, Who are among you,
To whom its reproach is a burden.
19 Behold, AT THAT TIME I WILL DEAL WITH ALL WHO AFFLICT YOU; I WILL SAVE THE LAME, And GATHER those who were DRIVEN OUT’ I will APPOINT them for praise and fame
IN EVERY LAND where they were put to shame.
20 AT THAT TIME I WILL BRING YOU BACK, Even AT THE TIME I GATHER YOU; For I WILL GIVE YOU fame and praise
Among all the peoples of the earth, When I RETURN YOUR CAPTIVES BEFORE YOUR EYES,” Says the LORD.
Yes, for all who were driven out, for all who were afflicted, HE WILL DEAL with all who AFFLICT you and CAST OUT ALL who had come against you, GATHER you and BRING YOU BACK into your own land.
BE STILL, LET FAITH ARISE. BE STILL, and KNOW HIS POWR. In QUIETNESS and TRUST. In QUIETNESS and CONFIDENCE shall be your strength (Isaiah 30:15). God will help her at the break of the dawn.
* PSALM 46 *
1 GOD is our refuge and strength,
A very PRESENT HELP in trouble.
2 THEREFORE WE WILL NOT FEAR, Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
4 There is a RIVER whose STREAMS shall MAKE GLAD the CITY OF GOD, The HOLY PLACE of the TABERNACLE of the MOST HIGH.
5 GOD IS IN THE MIDST OF HER, SHE SHALL NOT BE MOVED; GOD SHALL HELP HER, JUST AT THE BREAK OF DAWN.
6 Nations raged, the kingdoms were MOVED; HE UTTERED HIS VOICE, the earth melted.
7 The LORD OF HOSTS IS WITH US; The God of Jacon is our refuge. Selah
8 Come, BEHOLD the works of the LORD,
Who has made desolations in the earth.
9 He makes wars CEASE to the end of the earth;
He BREAKS the bow and CUTS the spear in two; He BURNS the chariot in the fire.
10 BE STILL, AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD; I WILL BE EXALTED AMONG THE NATIONS, I WILL BE EXALTED IN THE EARTH!
11 THE LORD OF HOSTS IS WITH US; THE GOD OF JACOB IS OUR REFUGE. Selah.
In QUIETNESS and CONFIDENCE shall be your strength (Isaiah 30:15)
* ISAIAH 30:15 *
For thus says the Lord GOD, the HOLY ONE of Israel: “IN RETURNING AND REST YOU SHALL BE SAVED; IN QUIETNESS AND CONFIDENCE SHALL BE YOUR STRENGTH.” But you would not.
God WAITS to be gracious to us (Isaiah 30:18-26)
* ISAIAH 30:18-26 *
18 THEREFORE THE LORD WILL WAIT, that He may be GRACIOUS to you;
And THEREFORE HE WILL BE EXALTED, that He may HAVE MERCY on you. For the LORD is a GOD OF JUSTICE; BLESSED are all those who WAIT FOR HIM.
19 For the people shall DWELL in ZION at Jerusalem; YOU SHALL WEEP NO MORE. He will be VERY GRACIOUS to you at the SOUND OF YOUR CRY; When HE HEARS IT, HE WILL ANSWER YOU.
20 And though the LORD gives you
The BREAD OF ADVERSITY and the WATER OF AFFLICTION,
Yet your teachers WILL NOT BE MOVED into a corner anymore,
BUT YOUR EYES SHALL SEE your teachers.
21 YOUR EARS SHALL HEAR A WORD BEHIND YOU, saying, “THIS IS THE WAY, WALK IN IT,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.
22 YOU WILL ALSO DEFILE the covering of your images of silver, And the ornament of your molded images of gold. YOU WILL THROW AWAY as an UNCLEAN THING; YOU WILLS AY to them, “Get away!”
23 THEN HE WILL GIVE THE RAIN for your seed
With which you sow the ground,
And bread of the increase of the earth;
It will be FAT and PLENTIFUL.
IN THAT DAY your cattle will feed IN LARGE PASTURES.
24 LIKEWISE the oxen and the young donkeys that WORK THE GROUND
Will eat CURED fodder,
Which has been winnowed with the shovel and fan.
25 There will be on every high mountain And on every high hill RIVERS and STREAMS of waters, IN THE DAY of the great slaughter,
When the towers fall.
26 MOREOVER the LIGHT of the moon will be as the LIGHT of the sun,
And the LIGHT of the sun will be SEVENFOLD,
As the LIGHT of SEVEN DAYS, IN THE DAY that the LORD binds up the bruise of His people And HEALS the STROKE of their wound.
