Are we hungry?
He calms the storm, He leads His people to their DESIRED HAVEN (Psalm 107:28-32)
* PSALM 107:28-32 *
28 Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble,
And He BRINGS THEM OUT of their DISTRESSES.
29 HE CALMS THE STORM, SO THAT ITS WAVES ARE STILL.
30 THEN they are GLAD because they are QUIET;
So He GUIDES THEM TO THEIR DESIRED HAVEN.
31 Oh, that men would GIVE THANKS to the LORD for HIS GOODNESS,
And for His WONDERFUL WORKS to the CHILDREN of men!
32 Let them EXALT HIM also in the assembly of the people,
And PRAISE HIM in the COMPANY of the elders.
He makes the hungry DWELL. BLESSED are the ones who are HUNGRY for they shall be FILLED. This is the lovingkindness of the LORD (Psalm 107:33-43)
* PSALM 107:33-43 *
33 He turns rivers into a wilderness,
And the watersprings into dry ground;
34 A fruitful land into barrenness,
For the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
35 He turns a wilderness into POOLS OF WATER,
And dry land into watersprings.
36 THERE HE MAKES THE HUNGRY DWELL, That they may ESTABLISH A CITY for a DWELLING PLACE,
37 And sow fields and plant vineyards, That they may YIELD A FRUITFUL HARVEST.
38 He also BLESSES them, and they MULTIPLY GREATLY; And He DOES NOT LET THEIR CATTLE DECREASE.
39 When they are diminished and brought low
Through oppression, affliction, and sorrow,
40 He pours contempt on princes,
And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way;
41 YET HE SETS THE POOR ON HIGH, FAR FROM AFFLICTION,
And makes their families like a FLOCK.
42 The righteous SEE IT and REJOICE,
And ALL INIQUITY STOPS ITS MOUTH.
43 Whoever is wise will OBSERVE these things,
And they will UNDERSTAND the LOVINGKINDNESS of the LORD.
If we find favor in THY SIGHT, GRANT us REST from these days of ADVERSITY (Psalm 94:12-19)
* PSALM 94:12-19 *
12 BLESSED is the man whom You INSTRUCT, O LORD, And teach out of Your law,
13 That You may give him REST from the days of ADVERSITY, UNTIL the pit is DUG for the WICKED.
14 FOR THE LORD will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.
15 But JUDGMENT will RETURN TO RIGHTEOUSNESS, And all the UPRIGHT will follow it.
16 Who will RISE UP FOR ME AGAINST the workers of INIQUITY?
17 UNLESS THE LORD HAD BEEN MY HELP,
My soul would soon have settled in silence.
18 If I say, “My foot slips,”YOUR MERCY, O LORD, WILL HOLD ME UP.
19 IN THE MULTITUDE OF MY ANXIETIES WITHIN ME, YOUR COMFORTS DELIGHT MY SOUL.
When we have EATEN ASHES like bread, and mingled our drink with WEEPING, God says IT IS TIME, the SET TIME HAS COME to FAVOR ZION. He TURNS our WEEPING into DANCING, TEARS into JOY, WEEPING into PRAISE (Psalm 102:12-22)
* PSALM 102:12-22 *
12 BUT YOU, O LORD, shall ENDURE FOREVER, And the REMEMBERANCE OF YOUR NAME TO ALL GENERATIONS.
13 YOU WILL ARISE AND HAVE MERCY ON ZION; FOR THE TIME TO FAVOR HER, YES, THE SET TIME, HAS COME.
14 For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, And SHOW FAVOR to her dust.
15 So the nations shall FEAR THE NAME OF THE LORD, And all the kings of the earth YOUR GLORY.
16 FOR THE LORD SHALL BUILD UP ZION; HE SHALL APPEAR IN HIS GLORY.
17 HE SHALL REGARD the prayer of the destitute,
And SHALL NOT DESPISE their prayer.
18 THIS WILL BE WRITTEN FOR THE GENERATION TO COME,
That A PEOPLE YET TO BE CREATED MAY PRAISE THE LORD.
19 FOR He looked down from the height of His sanctuary;
From heaven the LORD VIEWED the earth.
20 TO HEAR the GROANING of the prison, TO RELEASE those APPOINTED to death,
21 TO DECLARE THE NAME OF THE LORD in ZION
And HIS PRAISE in Jerusalem.
22 When the peoples are GATHERED TOGETHER,
And the kingdoms, TO SERVE THE LORD.
When the Spirit of the LORD comes upon HIs people, He causes us to REST. He causes us to find REST FOR OUR SOULS.
Why do we need to SEARCH DEEP scriptures?
TO FIND REST FOR OUR SOULS (Isaiah 6:16)
* ISAIAH 6:16 *
Thus says the LORD: “STAND in the ways and SEE,
And ASK for the OLD PATHS, where the GOOD WAY is, And WALK IN IT;
Then you will FIND REST for your souls. But they said, “We will not walk in it.’
* ISAIAH 63:11-14 *
11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying: “Where is He who brought them up out of the sea
With the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who PUT HIS HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN them,
12 Who led them by the right hand of Moses,
With His glorious arm,
Diving the water before them
To make for HIMSELF an EVERLASTING NAME,
13 Who LED THEM THROUGH THE DEEP,
As a horse in the wilderness,
That they might not stumble?”
14 As a beast goes down into the valley,
And the Spirit of the LORD causes him to REST,
So You lead Your people,
To make YOURSELF a GLORIOUS NAME.
HIS REST that gives us REST for our souls makes us LIE DOWN SAFELY on HIS PASTURES, HIS REST is found beside HIS STILL WATERS (Psalm 23)
* PSALM 23 *
1 THE LORD is my shepherd; I SHALL NOT WANT.
2 HE MAKES ME TO LIE DOWN in green pastures; He LEADS ME beside the still waters.
3 He RESTORES my soul; He LEADS ME in the paths of righteousness FOR HIS NAME’S SAKE
4 Yea, though I walk through the VALLEY of the shadow of death, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL; FOR YOU ARE WITH ME; Your rod and Your staff, they COMFORT me.
5 YOU PREPARE A TABLE BEFORE me in the PRESENCE of my enemies; YOU ANOINT my head with OIL; MY CUP RUNS OVER.
6 SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY SHALL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE;
And I WILL DWELL in the house of the LORD FOREVER.
Why are you CAST DOWN, O MY SOUL? And why are you DISQUIETED WITHIN me? LET GO MY SOUL and TRUST IN HIM. The wind and the waves still know HIS NAME.
HOPE IN GOD, place your trust and confidence in HIS COUNTENANCE (Psalm 42)
* PSALM 42 *
1 As the deer PANTS for the water brooks, SO PANTS my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul THIRSTS for God, for the LIVING GOD. When shall I COME and APPEAR BEFORE GOD?
3 My TEARS have been my FOOD day and night,
While they CONTINUALLY SAY to me, “WHERE IS YOUR GOD?”
4 When I REMEMBER these things, I POUR OUT MY SOUL WITHIN ME. For I used to go with the multitude;
I went with them to the HOUSE OF GOD,
With the VOICE OF JOY and PRAISE, With a multitude that KEPT a pilgrim FEAST.
5 Why are you CAST DOWN, O MY SOUL?
And why are you DISQUIETED WITHIN me?
HOPE IN GOD, for I shall yet PRAISE HIM
For the help of HIS COUNTENANCE.
6 O my God, my soul is CAST DOWN WITHIN me;
Therefore I will REMEMBER YOU from the land of the Jordan,
And from the heights of Hermon, From the Hill Mizar.
7 DEEP CALLS UNTO DEEP AT THE NOISE OF YOUR WATERFALLS;
ALL YOUR WAVES AND BILLOWS HAVE GONE OVER ME.
8 THE LORD WILL COMMAND HIS LOVINGKINDNESS in the daytime,
And in the night HIS SONG SHALL BE WITH ME —
A prayer to the God of my life.
9 I will SAY to GOD MY ROCK, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go MOURNING because of the OPPRESSION of the enemy?”
10 As with a BREAKING of my BONES, My enemies REPROACH me,
While they say to me ALL DAY LONG, “WHERE IS YOUR GOD?”
11 Why are you CAST DOWN, O MY SOUL?
And why are you DISQUIETED WITHIN me? HOPE IN GOD;
For I shall yet PRAISE HIM,
The help of my Countenance and my God.
The hope in God is the DIVINE EXCHANGE that transfer the help of His countenance to the help of our countenance. He strengthens us to cause us to go from STRENGTH TO STRENGTH, GLORY TO GLORY in the LIGHT of HIS COUNTENANCE.
Show me Your face, LORD

And then gird up my legs
That I might STAND in THIS HOLY PLACE
Show me YOUR FACE, LORD YOUR POWER and YOUR GRACE
YOUR POWER and YOUR GRACE
I would MAKE IT TO THE END
If I can just SEE YOUR FACE

Moses stood on a mountain
WAITING FOR YOU to pass by
YOU PUT YOUR HAND over his face
So IN YOUR PRESENCE, he wouldn’t die
And ALL OF ISRAEL SAW THE GLORY
And it SHINES DOWN through the age
NOW You’ve CALLED me
To boldly SEEK YOUR FACE
SHOW ME YOUR FACE, LORD
SHOW ME YOUR FACE
And then GIRD UP my legs
That I might STAND in THIS HOLY PLACE
